Canad Inns Stadium

In 1953, the Blue Bombers moved from Osborne Stadium (the present location of Great West Life) to play their first season in Winnipeg Stadium, fondly known as “The House that Jack Built.”

The Stadium saw the Glory Years of the late 1950's and early '60's as the Bombers captured four Grey Cups in five years. Decades later, Bomber fans were still pouring in throughout the football seasons to watch their heroes in Blue and Gold.

In 1991, the Stadium held its first Grey Cup game in a hugely successful battle between the Toronto Argonauts and the Calgary Stampeders. Toronto, led by Quarterback Matt Dunigan and a Kick-off return by Raghib "The Rocket" Ismail won the Grey Cup that year. But only seven years later, Calgary would hoist the cup in the same stadium as Winnipeg played host to the 1998 game.

In 2001, Canad Inns Corporation joined forces with the Bombers to become a major corporate partner. Through the deal, the stadium naming rights were granted, to create what is now known as Canad Inns Stadium - the Home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

In 2006, over 50 years since its construction, Canad Inns Stadium will host the 94th Grey Cup championship.
