The 3-1 Calgary Stampeders went into Ivor Wynne Stadium to face the 0-4 Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The Tiger-Cats kicked a field goal with no time on the clock to defeat the Stamps 20 - 17. The "Little Marshal", Ron Lancaster, got his first win as the new coach of the Ticats, in front of 26,944 fans in attendance.

This was a game that the Stamps should have easily won, but the Ticats were playing inspired football behind the legendary coach.

The Ticats started the scoring in the first quarter with a one-yard touchdown run by the QB Jason Maas.

The first quarter was a horror show for the Stamps fans, as the Mr. Hyde personna of QB Henry Burris came to light. Without the foot of K Sandro DeAngelis or the running of RB Joffrey Reynolds, this game would have been truly ugly.

At the end of the first quarter, Hamilton led the game 7-0.

DeAngelis scored on the third play of the second quarter with a 40-yard field goal.

On the following series, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats started on their own 43-yard line. Maas looked impressive in leading his team to the Calgary 1-yard line. The Ticats decided to go for the major on third-and-one. Unfortunately, for the Ticats, RB Josh Ranek fumbled the ball which was recovered by LB George White.

Calgary took over the ball and went 72 yards in 12 plays to give DeAngelis a chance at a 46-yard field goal. However, the usually reliable DeAngelis missed the field goal try, but was awarded a single.

At the half, Hamilton 7 - Calgary 4.

The third quarter was all about field position with the two teams moving the ball, albeit poorly. Late in the third quarter, Hamilton started a drive from their own 17-yard line. Maas again led his team deep into Calgary territory, this time to the Calgary 2-yard line. This time, on third-and-two, the Tiger-Cats brought in their new K Mark Myers. After two penalties, Myers drilled a 9-yard field goal to put Hamilton up 10-4.

The fourth quarter had the majority of the fireworks of the game. Burris finally showed up for the game completing a 30-yard touchdown pass to WR Ken-Yon Rambo, put the Stamps ahead 10-11. Calgary scored again on their next possession on a 42-yard field goal, Stamps lead 10-14.

Hamilton got back into the fight on a 15-yard run by RB Corey Holmes to take back the lead 17-14.

DeAngelis made a third field goal, this time for 37-yards, with 1:58 left in the fourth.

But, it was the foot of Myers that led his team to victory.

The Stamps lost DE Rahim Abdullah late in the fourth quarter, who was injured on a tackle of Vaughn.

Final stat leaders Calgary. QB Henry Burris was 15 of 24 for 228 yards with one touchdown and one interception. RB Joffrey Reynolds had 14 rushes for 100 yards and 0 touchdowns. WR Ken-Yon Rambo had 4 receptions for 71 yards and one touchdown. K Sandro DeAngelis was 3/4 on field goals and 1/1 on extra points.

Final stat leaders Hamilton. QB Jason Maas went 26 of 37 for 240 yards with 0 touchdowns and 0 picks. RB Josh Ranek had 3 rushes for 33 yards and one touchdown. WR Terry Vaughn 10 receptions for 79 yards. **Vaughn became the all-time CFL receptions leader on the night with 973 career receptions**. K Mark Myers was 2/2 on field goals and 2/2 on extra points.
