Born on November 24, 1967 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Cal Eldred (Calvin John Eldred) played for the Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 14 year career. Eldred broke into the bigs on September 24, 1991 with the Milwaukee Brewers, and put up a 1.79 ERA in 100.1 innings pitched in 1992, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Cal Eldred's best season was 1993, when he posted a 4.01 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 180 batters.
