Born on January 6, 1897 in West Baden, Indiana, By Speece (Byron Franklin Speece) played for the Washington Senators, Cleveland Indians and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 4 year career. Speece broke into the bigs on April 21, 1924 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 2.65 ERA in 54.1 innings pitched in 1924, his rookie year.
