Buy low on Chone

Chone Figgins is expected to miss up to 6 weeks of playing time after it has been discovered to have a second fracture in his right middle index finger. The injury comes at a bad time as the speedy Figgins had a chance to re-claim the leadoff spot while troubles have surrounded Gary Matthews off-field conduct.

This is a strong buying opportunity for astute fantasy owners looking to get a top notch SB threat on the cheap. While Figgy is expected to miss the first month of the season he should be fully healed and ready to go when he returns from the D.L. The good news is that this injury has nothing to do with his legs which are his greatest asset and the reason that you will want to buy low on Chone.

While his position eligibility is now limited to 3b and Of, there will only be a handful of other players in the league that can match his sb totals for the year. As mentioned on my site www.fangini.com, now is the time to take advantage of this injury and grab Chone on the cheap. With 5 other months of playing time an investment in Chone should still yiled fourty plus steals and a cloud of dust left behind him.
