Butch Songin (Edward F. Songin) was born on May 11, 1924 in Walpole, Massachusetts. After going to high school at Newman Prep (Boston, MA) and Walpole (MA), Songin attended Boston College. Songin made his professional debut in the AFL in 1960 with the Boston Patriots. He played for the Boston Patriots and New York Titans over the course of his 3 year career.
Most people believe that 1960 was Butch Songin's best year, as he threw for 2476 yards and tossed 22 TDs.
