Butch Nieman (Elmer Leroy Nieman) was born on February 8, 1918 in Herkimer, Kansas. He made his Major League debut on May 2, 1943 for the Boston Braves. In 1943, his rookie year, he hit .251 with 7 home runs and 46 RBI. Nieman played for the Boston Braves for his entire 3 year career.
