Butch Johnson (Michael McColly Johnson) was born on May 28, 1954 in Los Angeles, California. After going to high school at Dorsey (Los Angeles, CA), Johnson attended the University of California, Riverside. Johnson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1976 with the Dallas Cowboys. He played for the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that 1984 was Butch Johnson's best year, as he hauled in 42 receptions, had 587 receiving yards and caught 6 TD passes.
