Butch Benton (Alfred Lee Benton) was born on August 24, 1957 in Tampa, Florida. He made his Major League debut on September 14, 1978 for the New York Mets. Benton played for the New York Mets, Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 4 year career.
