Buster Maynard (James Walter Maynard) was born on March 25, 1913 in Henderson, South Carolina. He made his Major League debut on September 17, 1940 for the New York Giants. In 1942, his rookie year, he hit .247 with 4 home runs and 32 RBI. Maynard played for the New York Giants for his entire 4 year career.
