Burt Shotton (Burton Edwin Shotton) was born on October 18, 1884 in Brownhelm, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on September 13, 1909 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1911, his rookie year, he hit .255 with 0 home runs and 36 RBI. Shotton played for the St. Louis Browns, Washington Senators and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that Burt Shotton's best season was 1916, when he stole 41 bases and hit for a .283 average.
