Bump Wills (Elliott Taylor Wills) was born on July 27, 1952 in Washington, D.C.. He made his Major League debut on April 7, 1977 for the Texas Rangers. In 1977, his rookie year, he hit .287 with 9 home runs and 62 RBI. Wills played for the Texas Rangers and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 6 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Bump Wills's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1980, when he stole 34 bases and knocked in 58 runs. However, others believe that it was 1978, when he stole 52 bases and knocked in 57 runs.
