Born on November 27, 1892 in Gull River, Minnesota, Bullet Joe Bush (Leslie Ambrose Bush) played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, St. Louis Browns, Washington Senators, Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Giants over the course of his 17 year career. Bush broke into the bigs on September 30, 1912 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 3.82 ERA in 200.1 innings pitched in 1913, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Bullet Joe Bush's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1922, when he posted a 3.31 ERA, won 26 games and struck out 92 batters. However, others believe that it was 1918, when he posted a 2.11 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 125 batters.
