[edit] Biography

Born on February 24, 1882 in Chicago, Illinois, Bugs Raymond (Arthur Lawrence Raymond) played for the Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals and New York Giants over the course of his 6 year career. Raymond broke into the bigs on September 23, 1904 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 1.67 ERA in 64.2 innings pitched in 1907, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Bugs Raymond's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1908, when he posted a 2.03 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 145 batters. However, others believe that it was 1909, when he posted a 2.47 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 121 batters.
