Buford Long (Buford Eugene Long) was born on December 14, 1931 in Lake Wales, Florida. After going to high school at Lale Wales (FL), Long attended the University of Florida. Long made his professional debut in the NFL in 1953 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 3 year career.
Most people believe that 1953 was Buford Long's best year, as he picked off 3 passes.
