Buffett Not Expecting Christmas Card from Boras

Warren Buffett Not Standing By Mailbox Waiting For Christmas Card From Boras

Now that it has been disclosed that Warren Buffett advised Alex Rodriguez not to take Scott Boras into negotiating sessions with the Yankees it is safe to say that Boras is not saving his nicest Christmas card for Buffett. Buffett knows better than to stand by the mailbox in a blizzard in Omaha expecting a Christmas card from Boras.

Seriously, Buffett could have cost Boras hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions by talking A-Rod into pulling an end around play on Boras with Boras still standing in the backfield not knowing what hit him.

Then to top that off Kenny Rogers ditches him the same week costing Boras even more money. Not too worry Boras has enough money to last two lifetimes but he may have to curtail his plans for that money now.

Below is a list of Scott Boras free agent clients that haven't wised up and gotten rid of him yet and Boras is persona non grata with most major league clubs anyway:

Bruce Chen Eric Gagne Mike Gosling Travis Harper Jose Hernandez Andruw Jones Sunny Kim Matt LeCroy Travis Lee Kyle Lohse Rodrigo Lopez David Newhan Corey Patterson Alex Rodriguez (his agent in name only) Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi Ron Villone Jeff Weaver Brad Wilkerson Bernie Williams

After examining this list it appears that Boras has very few big name players outside of Alex Rodriguez and Andruw Jones. Having Jeff Weaver and his 7-13 record and 6.20 on his client list shows Boras is desperate to take on anyone as a client. Not even Boras will have an easy time getting Weaver signed by a major league club. He may have to find him a job in an independent league. The market for pitchers like Weaver who gave up 190 hits in 146 innings is drying up fast. The list also shows what players fired Boras.

Jeff Borris has an even tougher job as agent for Barry Bonds trying to sell teams on signing a player that has been indicted by federal government.

Sidenote: David Wells is represented by Gregg Clifton and Nina the wife of Wells.

Not much of a list at all for a supposed wunderkind of a sport's agent. No worries thought, I'm sure Boras can monopolize the free agent market for spelling competitions.

The reality of free agency for the buyers is so often The Winner's Curse, overpaying for underproduction.

Finally Warren Buffet makes up for that goddamn Gillette / P&G deal. (I think this may be the karma that cause boston to go on such a winning streak....) Mr Boras would be wise to remember there is ALWAYS a bigger fish out there.

Probably won't be able to count on the Andruw Jones money much longer with the direction his performance is headed

Like Tyrone I thought the list was not that impressive. He may have an even less impressive list by this time next year...he may not even have a list.

LASports got it right...Buffett should send a Christmas card to Boras to remind Boras of how Buffett talked A-Rod into negotiating without Boras.

It would be something if Andruw Jones dumped Boras then his list would be even less impressive.

Ron Sen is right about underproduction from free agents. Carl Pavano is Exhibit One of what little production a team can get for multi-million dollar contracts.

A-Rod will send Buffett a Christmas card and he should tip him like LASports suggests.
