Buffet and Goldman Sachs Broker A-Rod Deal

by Sportsbiz

None other than the Oracle of Omaha advised A-Rod to bypass agent Scott Boras and call the Yankees to talk about staying in NYC.  It took powerhouse investment bank Goldman Sachs to make it happen.  That's the surprising story behind the story of how Alex Rodriguez is staying a Yankee, according to the Wall Street Journal.

I have to laugh a bit at the line in the WSJ article that mentions him as one of the most controversial players in the game. What is the controversy? Doesn't hit well in October? Supposedly seems sort of "phony" to some teammates and reporters? Makes lots of money? Was seen at some strip clubs? Compared to football, a controversial baseball player is pretty lame. No shot up strip clubs, weapons charges, dog fighting etc. Baseball is just not keeping up with the times.

Yes, Warren Buffet is a hungry dude. At least he's not a fat slob like that Warren Buffett dude.

Boras has to feel like a complete idiot not being there for his best player's negotiating sessions.

We are likely to see more Boras clients fire him.
