Buffalo (NFL)
Buffalo, New York had a National Football League team prior to the Bills that operated under three different names: The All-Americans from 1920-1923, Bisons from 1924-1925, 1927 and 1929, and the Rangers in 1926.
The All-Americans had success during its first couple of seasons, posting a 9-1-1 regular season record in 1920 and a 9-1-2 record in 1921. But the team struggled for the rest of its lifespan. The team went through several owners and name changes, but nothing seemed to work. Finally, after failing to field a team in 1928, it folded after the 1929 season.
