Buddy Hassett (John Aloysius Hassett) was born on September 5, 1911 in New York, New York. He made his Major League debut on April 14, 1936 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1936, his rookie year, he hit .310 with 3 home runs and 82 RBI. Hassett played for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Boston Braves and New York Yankees over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Buddy Hassett's best season was 1936, when he hit for a .310 average and knocked in 82 runs.
