Born on July 10, 1965 in Dallas, Texas, Buddy Groom (Wedsel Gary Groom) played for the Detroit Tigers, Florida Marlins, Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees and Arizona Diamondbacks over the course of his 14 year career. Groom broke into the bigs on June 20, 1992 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 7.44 ERA in 55.2 innings pitched in 1995, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Buddy Groom's best season was 2002, when he posted a 1.60 ERA.
