Buddy Blattner (Robert Garnett Blattner) was born on February 8, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on April 18, 1942 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1946, his rookie year, he hit .255 with 11 home runs and 49 RBI. Blattner played for the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Giants and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 5 year career.
