Bucky Mcelroy (William Murry McElroy) was born on January 23, 1929 in Monroe, Louisiana. After going to high school at Monroe (LA), Mcelroy attended Hinds Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi. Mcelroy made his professional debut in the NFL in 1954 with the Chicago Bears. He played for the Chicago Bears for his entire 1 year career.
