Bucknell Captures Opening Championship Game

2 seed Bucknell opened up the 2007 Men's Patriot League Basketball Championships yesterday with a quarterfinal-round win over the 7 seed Navy. The game was played at Bucknell University, as the Patriot League conference tournament is held at the home of the highest seed in each game.
Bucknell is hoping to enter its 3rd consecutive NCAA tournament by winning the Patriot League Championships. Bucknell earned a bit of fame over the past 2 NCAA tournaments be upsetting Kansas as a 14 seed in 2005 and Arkansas as an 9 seed in 2006.
Also claiming victory were 1 seed Holy Cross over Lafayette, 4 seed American over Colgate and 6 seed Army upsetting 3 seed Lehigh.
Bucknell continues with semi-final action against Army on Sunday in Lewisburg, PA. Holy Cross faces off against American also on Sunday in Worcester, MA.
