Born on February 3, 1915 in Norwood, North Carolina, Buck Ross (Lee Ravon Ross) played for the Philadelphia Athletics and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 10 year career. Ross broke into the bigs on May 7, 1936 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 5.83 ERA in 200.2 innings pitched in 1936, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Buck Ross's best season was 1943, when he posted a 3.19 ERA and won 11 games.
