[edit] BiographyAcquired Signed as a free agent on May 16, 2005. Had a remarkable rookie season backing up Dave Dickenson and Casey Printers during their absences due to injury. Saw considerable playing time and played a key role in the Lions' win at Saskatchewan on Aug 27/05.. Saw action at QB in seven games including an 8-for-14, 129-yard performance vs Saskatchewan on Oct 10/05. Finished 2005 with 43 completions on 71 attempts for 679 yards and 3 TD's College In 42 games with NMSU, Pierce was the starting quarterback, completing 191 passes for 2,253 yards and 16 touchdowns. He was honoured with four player of the game titles during his senior year, and was consistently the NMSU stat leader for passing. Pierce had a 69 percentage for completed passes and was one of the most efficient passers in the country, throwing 118 passes for 1,510 yards and 7 touchdowns. Played 8 of 12 games and completed 68 of 107 passes for 949 yards and 6 touchdowns. Played 9 of 12 games and completed 20 of 37 passes for 251 yards and 1 touchdown. Personal Pierce started playing football at the age of 7. He was an All-State basketball player in high school and had offers to play at the Division 1 level. He enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly when hunting or fishing, and considers Jamaica to be his ideal vacation spot. Pierce likes spending time in White Rock and at Stanley Park when he is in Vancouver, and enjoys making community appearances with the Lions.
