Born on October 4, 1963 in Lubbock, Texas, Bruce Ruffin (Bruce Wayne Ruffin) played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies over the course of his 12 year career. Ruffin broke into the bigs on June 28, 1986 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 2.46 ERA in 146.1 innings pitched in 1986, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bruce Ruffin's best season was 1996, when he posted a 4.00 ERA, notched 24 saves and struck out 74 batters.
