Born on February 18, 1950 in Pasco, Washington, Bruce Kison (Bruce Eugene Kison) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, California Angels and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 15 year career. Kison broke into the bigs on July 4, 1971 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 3.40 ERA in 95.1 innings pitched in 1971, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Bruce Kison's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1976, when he posted a 3.08 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 98 batters. However, others believe that it was 1979, when he posted a 3.19 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 105 batters.
