Bruce Gehrke (Bruce R. Gehrke) was born on September 12, 1924 in Long Island, New York. After going to high school at Sewanhaka (Floral Park, NY), Gehrke attended Columbia University. Gehrke made his professional debut in the NFL in 1948 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 1 year career.
