Bruce Edwards (Charles Bruce Edwards) was born on July 15, 1923 in Quincy, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on June 23, 1946 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1946, his rookie year, he hit .267 with 1 home run and 25 RBI. Edwards played for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Washington Senators and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Bruce Edwards's best season was 1947, when he hit for a .295 average and knocked in 80 runs.
