This game pitched the two top teams in the CFL against each other. The British Columbia Lions went into Percival Molson Stadium to meet up with the Montreal Alouettes in front of an increasingly restless crowd of 20,202.

First string pivot, Dave Dickenson started the game for the visiting Lions. Dickenson has sat out of the previous two games with an injured ankle. He was put out of this game late in the first half with a reaggrivation of the injury. On the shortened night, Dickenson went 10 of 15 for 159 yards and 1 touchdown.

The Lions number two pivot, Buck Pierce, took over for Dickenson and played a great game. Slot back Geroy Simon caught passes from both pivots, adding to an impressive night of football.

Als pivot, Anthony Calvillo, continued to struggle through the midseason, leading the offense to only one major. The aforementioned restless crowd gave the Als few cheers, but one of the biggest was when Calvillo was lifted from the game late in the fourth quarter and replaced with Nealon Greene.

Over the past four games, the Montreal offense have only scored four touchdowns. In the last three games, the Als have been outscored 120 - 42.

Final stat leaders B.C. Buck Pierce was 13 of 16 for 221 yards with 3 touchdowns and 0 picks. Joe Smith had 16 rushes for 96 yards and 1 touchdown. Geroy Simon had 8 receptions for 175 yards and 1 touchdown. Paul McCallum was 2/2 on field goals and 6/6 on extra points.

Final stat leaders Montreal. Anthony Calvillo was 23 of 33 for 292 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Robert Edwards had 14 rushes for 53 yards and 0 touchdowns. Kerry Watkins had 6 receptions for 132 yards and 0 touchdowns. Damon Duval was 2/2 on field goals and 1/1 on extra points.

The CFL looks to be wide open. With the apparent demise of the Alouettes, the Lions appear to be the dominate force in the league.

I looked at the standings and it looks tight - however, if you add all the Games Played together, it adds up to an odd number. Considering they increase in twos (if one team plays a game, so does another), that shouldn't happen. Just to point that out...

Ah, thanks. A slight oversight in updating this week.
