With British Columbia Lions top QB Dave Dickenson sitting on the bench with a high ankle sprain, back up quarterback Buck Pierce led the vaunted Lions offense.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers top pivot, Kevin Glenn was also out of the game after having arthroscopic knee surgery on Thursday. Replacing Glenn was the number 2 QB Mike Quinn.
Quinn should have stayed on the bench. He threw four interceptions and fumbled the ball twice.
Pierce, on the other side, ran for a touchdown but also threw a couple of picks.
The game was ugly. The game featured 13 turnovers - nine of those by the Blue Bombers.
Final stat leaders for both teams are not available.
