Brian Giles (Brian Stephen Giles) was born on January 20, 1971 in El Cajon, California. He made his Major League debut on September 16, 1995 for the Cleveland Indians. In 1997, his rookie year, he hit .268 with 17 home runs and 61 RBI. Giles played for the Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres over the course of his 12 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Brian Giles's most productive season. Some believe that it was 2000, when he slugged 35 home runs, hit for a .315 average and knocked in 123 runs. However, others believe that it was 2001, when he slugged 37 home runs, hit for a .309 average and knocked in 95 runs.
