Born on October 10, 1973 in Bainbridge, Georgia, Brian Powell (William Brian Powell) played for the Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 6 year career. Powell broke into the bigs on June 27, 1998 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 6.35 ERA in 83.2 innings pitched in 1998, his rookie year.
