Breaking News out of Detroit: The Lions lose to the Bye Week!!!

That's right folks. It seems like the bye week was just too much for the Detroit Lions. Nothing as odd as this has ever occured in the history of the NFL but if it were to happen to anyone, you better bet it would be the Lions.
This shouldn't be a surprise people! IT'S THE LIONS! The Lions may have a great passing game but their running game is similar to a guy with no legs, maybe even worse. After the Lions traded away one of their best cornerbacks, Dre Bly, for running back Tatum Bell, He is now asking to be traded because he has been sent to the "backup role." The Lions are saying that Bell is going to be a big part of the offense, but that has to be a lie.
As the starter in the first 5 games of the season, Bell has only 182 rushing yards with 44 carries and only 1 touchdown. That's pitiful in my book, considering that the Lions and their geniuses in the front office could have drafted Minnesota Vikings running back, Adrian Peterson, who happened to rush for 224 yards and 3 touchdowns (and got me 40 points on my fantasy team).
Now the defense wants to piss me off as well. They've given up 31 points a game (31st), and 378.6 yards a game (29th). Maybe I'm wrong but Dre Bly POSSIBLY could have cut some of that down, not like he's a stud or anything. Or maybe if the defensive line was any good, they could get some pressure on the damn quarterback instead of giving opposing teams 2 hours to throw the ball. Geez, the Lions defense make the Washington Redskins O-line look like the Indianapolis Colts. Redskins tight end, Chris Cooley, said that the Lions gave up against them. Being that the Lions gave up 2 interceptions that were returned for touchdowns and a special teams touchdown, that may not have been true, but that wouldn't suprise me one bit.
During the offseason, the Lions signed defensive tackle, Cory Redding to a 7 year, $49 million deal, which had everyone asking, "Who the **** is Cory Redding?" I guess he was suppose to make an impact on the defense this year, but that hasn't worked. He only has 14 tackles, and no sacks. Detroit is the only team I know that could give anybody a breakout game, but the next week, that player would be back to normal. Take Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Donovan Mcnabb for instance. He completed 80% of his passes, threw for 4 touchdowns and 381 yards against the Lions. But in all of the other games this season, he has only thrown for 2 touchdowns and 840 yards. And don't forget about Jason Campbell, who had a ball last week. He may have only threw for 2 touchdowns against them, but he's only threw 2 other touchdowns all season. He also had about 80% of his passes completed. I bet that if there is an NFL player that is struggling, they can't wait until they play Detroit.
But thats is just the Lions people. It felt good being 2-0 at one time. Hell, it felt good being 3-1. I shouldn't be complaining because for the moment, we have a winning record. A 10 win season may sound promising, but I'm not falling for that. We'll see though. I'm still a huge, faithful fan, but they would have to win a Superbowl to get me to be a die hard one.
