Breaking News: Vick Indicted

On Tuesday, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to illegal dogfighting.

According to the Assosciated Press, "Vick and three others were charged with violating federal laws against competitive dogfighting, procuring and training pit bulls for fighting and conducting the enterprise across state lines."

The indictment alleges that Vick and others had been involved and sponsored dog fights ever since Vick's rookie season in 2001.

I guess they should have traded Vick and not Matt Schaub

Speaking of that guy, I read his wikipedia entry and found this kind of redundant "Shot five to seven times in the head, he died instantly." Is there a case of someone getting shot in the head seven times where they didn't die instantly? As for Vick, I wonder if the Falcons are kicking themselves for giving away Schaub?

Dogfighters are the lowest kind of people. Dogfighters make Cockfighters look like Ivy Leaguers. Watching a segment on ESPN last night, I saw an informant talking about a fight that Vick was at. It went on 40 minutes before Vick's dog succumbed to the blood loss. My feelings about Vick as a person are at their lowest. As for The Falcons, I can only guess that they don't have a good citizenship clause in his contract after 1.) The Finger Incident, 2.)The Bong Water-Airport Incident, 3.)The Herpes Lawsuit and now this little dandy.

Ok, I quickly skimmed the indictment (posted at the smoking gun). Here is a summary of the witnesses:

1. 1 Sold Vick 4 dogs in 2002

1. 2 Saw Vick at a dogfight in Blackstone, VA. His dog fought Vick’s dog. His dog won and Vick himself handed him the purse.

1. 3 Was at a dog fight at Vick’s place in VA. Was criticized for yelling Vick’s name at the event.

1. 4 Was at a dog fight at Vick’s place in VA. His dog fought Vick’s dog and won. Vick himself handed him the purse.

There are a lot of details in the indictment.
