Breaking News: Pennington to Start Week 8

Kellen Clemens fans must wait at least another week. According to WFAN radio in NY, coach Mangini has named Chad Pennington the starter for this Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills. The Pennington era continues, and the start of the Clemens era is put off for at least one more week.

I knew it was going to happen after Pennington had some success last week, but the bottom line really doesn't have to do with Pennington's performance, it has to do with the future. Pennington can not be the QB next year, and better to let KC get a little action and see what we have in him. With the way we are playing, we need to see what we have in KC so we know whether to take Brohm with our top 5 pick.

If the Jets lose, they are officially out of post-season contention. In which case, I think Mangini would be foolish not to at least see what Clemens can do. It's a perfect time to bring in a new QB, there'd be minimal pressure to win.
