Breaking News: Mourinho Leaves Chelsea

by Thecrookedcap

In a shocking announcement today, Jose Mourinho, who has guided Chelsea Football Club to two Premier League titles, is no longer the manager of Chelsea. Mourinho's departure has been confirmed on Chelsea's website.

Mourinho has had a rocky relationship with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, particularly over the signing of Andriy Shevchenko, who has been a disappointment for the Blues. It seems the straw that broke the camel's back came yesterday's Champions League result, a disappointing 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge against Norwegian minnows Rosenborg.

No, he's not the Larry Brown of soccer. Jose has actually won things at every place he's been.

This is nottotally shocking. The timing is slightly unexpected, but Jose wasn't going to stick around past this season. I'm actually happy to see this. Jose is a fascinating character and I'd like to root for him, but Chelsea are so damned unlikeable that it hasn't been possible. I look forward to seeing where the Special One resurfaces.

Roman wants an open, attacking team like Barca, but Jose was more concerned about defense. Managers to take over: Lippi, Hiddink, Capello and City's own Sven..who can it be now?

Mourinho was done in by the fact that he couldn't win the Champions League. Last year's defeat to Liverpool in the semis was a heartbreak for the Blues. It's not like Chelsea didn't do anything during his tenure, back-to-back Premiership titles, a 2nd place finish last year, and a Cup Double is nothing to be ashamed of. But, that elusive Champions League trophy is what did Mourinho in.
