Brad Ecklund (Bradford Sterling Ecklund) was born on May 9, 1922 in Los Angeles, California. After going to high school at Union (Milwaukie, OR), Ecklund attended the University of Oregon. Ecklund made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1949 with the New York Yankees. He played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the New York Yankees the entire time. Ecklund also played in the NFL for 4 years, playing for the New York Yanks, Baltimore Colts and Dallas Cowboys over the course of his 4 year NFL career.

Brad was a substitute teacher during the late 70's in the City of Orange, specifically in Santiago Junior High school. He would mainly sub for the English department and I remember him well. He used to look like John Wayne and did a John Wayne impression that was spot on.
