Boston College beats Central Michigan in Season Opener, 31-24

Matt Ryan threw for 323 yards and three touchdowns as Boston College defeated Central Michigan University 31-24 on Thursday night.

Brian Toal ended Central Michigan's final scoring threat with a late interception. Central Michigan drove to the Eagles' 34 with under two minutes left in the game. Central Michigan then ran a trick play, where they lined up the center and quarterback at the far hash mark and the rest of the line in the middle of the field. But the play backfired when redshirt freshman Dan LeFevour threw an interception, thus sealing the win for the Eagles.

That trick play is called the swinging gate...for future reference.
