Boston's Rotation Questions

This is a short thought that came to me watching these playoffs.
The BoSox have Beckett as their ace and Papelbon closing but otherwise their pitching staff seems a bit thin. I will have to do more research and check out their prospects. I wonder what role Lester will have next year, he is a rare left-arm.
Otherwise, I don't like Wakefield other than for the novelty factor, Schilling is on his last legs, Dice-K has yet to win me over. The front office really hopes Dice becomes the #2 in the rotation so Boston can claim to have a 2 headed monster.
I wonder what the Free Agency will look like this year. It will probably be thin. Pitchers worth their salt would be locked up. Still, what the Sox can do on the market remains to be seen. Are you really improving going after old pitchers or used up arms?
So while the offense looks great with Papi, Tek, Youk, Manny, and emerging Pedroia and maybe Jacoby on full duty next year and the defense has Lowell who can also hit the stuffing out of a ball, the bullpen is pretty anonymous. Drew remains enigmatic, Crisp I personally think he is a disaster. So what if he has speed?
Lugo I am not very hot on either. But the main issues I think are definetely figuring out your top 5 when Curt and Wakefield are no longer there. Hopefully Dice plays like a #2 next year and not a #3 or #5.
