Bombo Rivera (Jesus Manuel (Torres) Rivera) was born on August 2, 1952 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He made his Major League debut on April 17, 1975 for the Montreal Expos. In 1976, his rookie year, he hit .276 with 2 home runs and 19 RBI. Rivera played for the Montreal Expos, Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Bombo Rivera's best season was 1979, when he hit for a .281 average.
