You heard me right guys. I think Donovan McNabb is finally headed out of Philadelphia. Which team (Bears) he'll land, is totally different. The guy is an Eagles legend, he took his team to the Super Bowl. But the collapse started once he forgot to play the final 5:30 of Super Bowl 39. The following year, they were soaring to new heights, and bombed because he got injured. They miss the playoffs, so no biggie. But the Eagles signed Jeff Garcia, and whenever a B grade QB comes in, that makes McNabb nervous. So in 2006, they struggle with him, he gets injured again, and he's gone for the year again. Jeff Garcia turned it around and they were close to making the NFC Championship game. Garcia is released, but in the NFL draft, they get Kevin Kolb. It's a weird pick, but maybe that's saying something.
Kevin Kolb is an unknown, but with McNabb often injured, and inconsistent, this to me raised some questions for the new year. When I predicted the Eagles would make the playoffs, I said that they would only if McNabb is healthy. Well, it's this year, and he's healthy. But, he has slowed down, he's not as quick and willing to run because of pressure. Now the Eagles are 0-2, and their season may very well rely on beating the 2-0 Detroit Lions at Lincoln Financial Field. It's only 3 games into the year, but McNabb has struggled, and has produced one touchdown in 2 games. If things don't turn around soon, he's done. Because east coast sports fans are brutal, and they'll be hounding him constantly.
In conclusion, it's kind of like a sandwich for McNabb. The fans hated the choice of him over Ricky Williams, then they loved it after a short period. Now, he's close to being hated again. He hasn't won a game in his last 4 or 5 starts if I'm correct. Watch out McNabb, you're 32, and your Eagle career is coming to a close (waits for commenters to disagree).
