In overtime, Boise State decided to go for a two point conversion, and beat the Oklahoma Sooners 43-42.
The Boise State Broncos did for College Football what the Utah Utes did a couple years ago. They reminded the BCS that the little guy deserves a chance at the big boys. Undefeated is undefeated.
Okay, I understand that little thing about strength of schedule, and so forth, but Boise State has accomplished everything asked of them, and has finished the season undefeated. Shouldn't they at least get a shot at the National Title?
Don't get me wrong, I don't want College Football to become like NCAA Basketball where the season is meaningless because 65 teams get invited to the big tourney. That would be ridiculous. But what about a four team playoff that includes teams like Boise State if they finish undefeated?
Some will say, hey, with a four team playoff, the number five team will complain, and you can't insert a small school just because they go undefeated over a larger school of obviously better talent.
Perhaps.
But come on, is the system as it is really any good?
One thing is for sure. Boise State has made everyone think. Perhaps next time a little guy goes undefeated, they will receive a little more respect from the BCS elitists. Boise State deserves the win, and deserves to hold their heads up high.
Congrats Boise State Broncos.

Ian Johnson had a game to remember. He showed toughness out there. That quarterback did a good job too.
I gotta admit that I was very depressed when Oklahoma tied it and then led it. This was over. Boise State looked like a tired team and it showed. Oklahoma just seemed to have more strength and depth. It was like a bully beating up on midgets there at the end. This is where great coaching comes to play. Their coach did not tell his players to give up. He told them to keep fighting and keep working. Everything paid off. This is what the Gophers need from a football coach in their next hire. They need a coach who knows how to have a clue like Boise State's.
No question that it was beautiful. I never thought I would see a day a mid-major team would go beat a big-time team. Oklahoma played very hard and they played to win. Give em credit for what they did too.
Boise State did not back down. They earned this win. Those fans that traveled to Glendale will remember this for a long time. Even Oklahoma fans have to admit that this was a good story even at their expense.
I wanted to see Boise State win this one in the worse way. You can talk about the winner of the national championship game, but to me this will mean nothing compared to Boise State. No disrespect to Florida and Ohio State.
Those fans up at Idaho are in cloud nine for sure and they should be.
This iwas the second best moment I ever watched in sports. Second to the Twins winning it all in 1991. The Wolves run used to be my second, but what Boise State did was special since they were little engine that could.
I do believe that there should be a playoff for the BCS.
