Born on October 20, 1929 in Desloge, Missouri, Bobby Tiefenauer (Bobby Gene Tiefenauer) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Indians, Houston Colt .45s, Milwaukee Braves, New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 10 year career. Tiefenauer broke into the bigs on July 14, 1952 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 4.34 ERA in 85 innings pitched in 1962, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bobby Tiefenauer's best season was 1964, when he posted a 3.21 ERA and notched 13 saves.
