Born on February 2, 1908 in Goodwins Mills, Maine, Bobby Coombs (Raymond Franklin Coombs) played for the Philadelphia Athletics and New York Giants over the course of his 2 year career. Coombs broke into the bigs on June 8, 1933 with the Philadelphia Athletics.
