Born on January 23, 1907 in Joliet, Illinois, Bobby Burke (Robert James Burke) played for the Washington Senators and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 10 year career. Burke broke into the bigs on April 16, 1927 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 3.96 ERA in 100 innings pitched in 1927, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bobby Burke's best season was 1934, when he posted a 3.21 ERA and struck out 52 batters.
