Born on January 29, 1939 in Hickory Grove, South Carolina, Bobby Bolin (Bobby Donald Bolin) played for the San Francisco Giants, Milwaukee Brewers and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 13 year career. Bolin broke into the bigs on April 18, 1961 with the San Francisco Giants, and put up a 3.62 ERA in 92 innings pitched in 1962, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Bobby Bolin's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1965, when he posted a 2.76 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 135 batters. However, others believe that it was 1968, when he posted a 1.99 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 126 batters.
