Bob Yates (Robert E. Yates) was born on November 20, 1938. After going to high school at Montpelier (VT), Yates attended Syracuse University. Yates made his professional debut in the AFL in 1961 with the Boston Patriots. He played for the Boston Patriots for his entire 5 year career.
