Bob was the Arsenal goalkeeper during the club's historic Double winning season in 1970-71.
Bob also served as the club's goalkeeping coach for 28 seasons retiring after the 2002-03 season.
In 1996 his daughter, Anna, was diagnosed with malignant schwannoma, a cancer of the nerve sheath. Sadly she lost her battle with the disease on December 1, 1998. Bob launched "The Willow Foundation" in 1999 operating locally and was re-launched nationally on October 4, 2005. The Foundation is set up in Anna's memory and helps people in the UK diagnosed with this disease.
