Bob Werl (Robert George Werl) was born on January 7, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at South Hills Catholic (Pittsburgh, PA), Werl attended the University of Miami. Werl made his professional debut in the AFL in 1966 with the New York Jets. He played for the New York Jets for his entire 1 year career.
